For nearly 60 years, Jack Wattley Discus has been synonymous with the highest quality discus in the world. Founded by the legendary Jack Wattley, a pioneer who brought the beauty of wild Amazonian discus to the aquarium hobby, our legacy is built on a passion for these captivating fish and an unwavering commitment to breeding excellence.

Jack’s dream began with a journey to the Amazon, where he personally collected wild discus from diverse habitats. Back in Florida, his innovative breeding program led to the creation of iconic color morphs, including the world-famous Wattley Turquoise.

In 1997, Gabriel Posada, a dedicated discus enthusiast and skilled engineer, took the helm of our Miami hatchery. Gabe’s expertise in water filtration and breeding techniques, combined with his deep respect for the Wattley method, has ensured the continuation of our tradition of excellence.

Our story is one of partnership and shared passion. When a mishap threatened Jack’s prized Red Panda strain, it was Gabe who had successfully bred and preserved the line, solidifying a collaboration that has lasted decades.

Today, Jack Wattley Discus continues to provide hobbyists and stores worldwide with exceptional discus strains. We’re proud to offer not only beautiful fish but also expert advice and support, making the discus keeping experience more enjoyable and accessible for all.
